I was wondering the same thing. Will these shows be with a trio, or will there be a bassist and/or a drummer? Even if the band is not the original Son Volt, or even called "Son Volt," some of the songs really benefit from a full band.

Excellent question. Shows commemorating the 20th anniversary of Son Volt's Trace with no Son Volt. Though true that today's Son Volt, if it still exists, isn't Trace's Son Volt, that was a band album.

Sharon? Jay? Bueller?

I'm considering the trek to Nashville, though I see this is considered part of the Americana Music Festival. According to the Americana Music Festival's website and the website of the venue (3rd & Lindley), the festival only runs from Sept 16-19. Each of those nights feature several different artists, playing only for 1 hour each. Jay plays on the 20th. So does this mean that Jay's show will be a full show with him headlining, or will he too only be given a 1-hour slot?

I'll drive to Nashville if it's a full show ... no way if it's a 1-hour gig.

Great news! Granted it was an original pressing, but I feel better about holding off on slapping down the 75 clams for a vinyl copy of Trace a few months ago.
