This looks like a real band! Curious why Dave isn't part of it.

Like Jay's "mod" look in the last photo. Rock n roll, baby!

Wow, Jay Zepplin. Damn, just got my tickets to DC and I might go to the show in Ardmore Pa. as well.

Wow--what a 180 from the Trace shows! He was recording this music while playing those lovely acoustic sets--pretty amazing. Jay sounds very committed--great singing and powerful guitar work. I can't wait to hear it loud on a good system and see him play this music live!

Angry snarling vital blues! The volume for this record is gonna have to be cranked to 11!

Hope the record release gets widespread coverage and that an effort is made to promote it. As much as I enjoy being part of select group of high brow fans who "get" Jay's music, he deserves far greater recognition. Would like to see them again on national late night TV--I know, no one watches TV anymore--hell, NPR Tiny Desk or KEXP live show would be great too.

Ballymena is a digital-only bonus track. And it looks like the album cover of at least some versions is a very cool industrial-looking graphic of a train car, rather than Mermaid/Dufnering Jay.

Looks like the "power trio" Jay mentioned was Jay on guitar, Mark Spencer on bass, Jacob Edwards on drums.

JAY FARRAR - vocal, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, organ
JACOB EDWARDS - drums, percussion
MARK SPENCER - backing vocal, bass, weissenborn, piano
GARY HUNT - backing vocal, fiddle
JASON KARDONG - pedal steel

In the golf world, Jay's style of sitting is called Dufnering.

I don't see what the problem is with the cover... grunge mermaids have a long tradition of playing rockin trax.

I have a sneaking suspicion it is the cover. And, yeah, I don't like it.
