Other alt-country albums that I can recall (on his list...NOT cassette): Lucinda Williams "Car Wheels..." , a couple of Gram Parsons and a couple Byrds (Sweetheart of the Rodeo, etc).

I remember thinking the same thing in the record store. They actually have this cassette? I knew they'd have one Dylan and One Beatle. An interesting fact about Son Volt's Trace that you might not know is The Clandestins are really into them. They also gave me something to offer a buy a girl while i was on a loser date once. :P

I was looking at this Elvis Costello "500 Albums You Need" list, from 2013 Vanity Fair. Among the usual suspects (6 Beatles, 8 Dylan etc), there was Son Volt "Trace"!
