Audience taping is allowed. There was a mix up I think with the new tour manager but it's been cleared up.
from Son Volt's sound engineer:

Audience taping is fine as long as you're out of the way - and of course no board mix.

Looked at the Pageant website for Son Volt
show and it states:

Small Cameras (no detachable lens) OK. NO Audio. NO Video.

There was a sign posted at the entrance to the Austin show that they band was taping the show.

Not sure. But I hope the band is recording the shows so they can put out a live album afterward. Or better yet, release all the shows in Dead One From the Vault style.....

Does anyone know if SV allows handheld recorders at shows? Haven't seen any shows posted lately
