been listening to "outskirts" album this evening, he's channeling a few different styles, but I'm in!

Yeah, pretty cool

He shifts between guitar, accordion, piano and organ on songs and that reminds me of Neil Young as well, and also doing four-track noisy recordings. Simplicity like this is pretty cool:

Glad you liked it. The records have different types of old-timey sounds, and as you will notice from that youtube-gig, songs have different sounds on many levels. I saw a show in April and that was different from this video as well.

Just want to recommend some cool music that is somewhat similar to Jay's music.

Daniel Norgren is a Swedish guy that makes really cool country/rock/blues-style music that is touring the US in the fall. He does simple, sparse, noisy and quiet music that reminds me a bit of Neil Young
