Very sweet indeed. Listened to Still Feel Gone for the first time in quite a while today. The complexity of the arrangements, the mastery of the guitars, and the maturity of the songwriting never fail to astonish me. It's sometimes hard to believe Uncle Tupelo isn't more of a household name, that these guys aren't regularly placed in the pantheon alongside the greatest rock bands of all-time. I often wonder if this will happen somewhere way down the line, perhaps even posthumously -- that they, Farrar especially, will finally get the recognition he's due and go down as one of the greatest songwriters in the history of the game. We are, after all, talking about a man who is equal parts Woody Guthrie and Neil Young, and who has never for a second taken his finger off the pulse of American roots music while simultaneously exploring and mastering uncharted terrain.mtruslow wrote:https://youtu.be/Ugsa8IdxQdQ

I was watching the UT videos that were uploaded to You Tube recently from the early 90's. The Trio with Jay, Jeff and Bill Belzer were just tight as hell and amazing. No disrespect to Mike Heidorn whatsoever. Jay's guitar playing was and still is, amazing. It seems that in SV he really doesn't show off his chops like he did and had to in Uncle Tupelo. Just fucking amazing.
