I too really enjoy this thread, and learning of new things to checkout. From my side, my favorites (in no order):

- Robert Plant, "Carry Fire"
- Steven Wilson, "To the Bone" (probably my favorite of the year)
- Martin Simpson, "Trials & Tribulations"
- Neil Young, "Hitchhiker" (Not sure if this really counts)
- Waxahatchee, "Out in the Storm"
- Son Volt (of course)
- Roger Waters, "Is this the Life We Really Want"
- JohnMoreland, "Big Bad Luv"
- Chuck Prophet, "Bobby Fuller Dies for your Sins"
- Pineapple Thief, "Where We Stood"

Take care,
Chris

Always late to the party...

First, I love it when y'all put up your top last year lists. I've gotten into more great music from this board over any other lists anywhere since I've joined. Anyhoos, here's my list:

Grizzly Bear - Painted Ruins
In This Moment - The Ritual
LCD Soundsystem - american dream
Queens Of The Stone Age - Villains
Kendrick Lamar - Damn.
Son Volt - Notes of Blue
Ghost In The Shell (Music inspired by the Motion picture)
Kevin Morby - City Music
Mark Lanegan Band - Gargoyle
Cory Branan - Adios
UNKLE - The Road Pt 1
Beck - Colors

And my favorite was from a local Fort Worth Texas musician. Some of the members of White Denim helped with the recording:

Andy Pickett - Andy Pickett

Good to see The Bats getting some attention. They`re one of the most underated bands around for a band that`s been around since 1982

I liked the second album by The Courtneys too

The Dream Syndicate comeback album was good too.Their Live At Raji`s album from 1989 is one of the best live albums ever

I really enjoyed The Feelies new one this year, two years in a row from them right?
I was a happy guy with Real Estate up until this last album, it didn't hit me like the previous ones.

I don't know how I missed Bash and Pop this year, I'm really enjoying it.

Slowdive's album is great too. Love me some shoegaze!
Thanks! The Feelies had a RSD EP of covers last year. I don't have it, but I'd love it for the "Barstool Blues" cover alone. The new Real Estate record isn't as strong as the previous two, but I do like "Darling". The Bash & Pop record is very solid. Happy New Year!
