There is no compromise. Now all the names are called. Packed house full of believers. Like a six string belief. Guitar revival Amen! Rural route sleeps while LA bleeds all over itself

Mark Patterson is an amazingly solid drummer. A joy to rock with I bet.
Chris Frame is a veteran of SV and man is he amazing.
His tone from a slew of what seems to me like Fender Telecasters
is every bit mix of Brad Rice, Boquist, Walbourne, David Gilmour and every perfect Mick Taylor lick you can think of. A real joy.

Good setting as always at Solana Beach’s Belly Up Tavern,
where I was told the Stones played a private gig a few years back.

What’s really helpful is the last two albums are full of gems to pluck, surrounded by some well loved classics like Drivin the View- which featured
Mark as third guitar. I works very well, delivering my one tingling hair on arms moment right before Free Loose Dirt... [/img]

I’d be remiss in not mentioning the musical break in TSE (or Windfall) with Jay and everyone’s friend Andrew DuPlantis singing in harmony before the band comes back in with a modest different twist on the old favorite.

Chris Frame is as good as any of the lead guitarists, and his modestly different takes shined throughout

Pumped up for the west coast swing! Headed to Phoenix tomorrow. Crescent Ballroom--great venue--on a Saturday night promises to be smokin'. Gonna miss Pappy's this year, but then Belly Up for the Solana Beach Son Volt-loving skaters and surfers! Hell yeah! Got a couple of other shows laid on, but sadly not Bakersfield. Wish I could make that one. Be sure and report out...

I was there Wednesday. They have an old vinyl, CDs, T -shirts
and posters place connected to a fine stage area many have played.

The owner and a volunteer guy Frank walked me around, told me about the plan -record store open 11-4, then prep for pizza and salads and beers 6-730, then Andrew opens 730...he played Trace while we talked about the
acoustics, the seating up to 550, 300 comfortably, Mavis played there, Los Lobos soon.

There was an older couple she liked classic older country and he liked more guitar rock...so I was selling them on Son Volt.

I can’t help but feel we’ll get a different show, with enough Bakersfield love to make it a very good night. It’s a good venue [/img]

Dang that is tempting. Is it a good venue? Bako could be a tough town for Jay. Not the most liberal town in CA.

Don’t miss Bakersfield on this SoCal run
