Day of the Doug is a tribute album to Doug Sahm. It features 12 songs that span Sahm’s career as a solo artist as well as his work with Sir Douglas Quintet and Texas Tornados. The Intro and Outro tracks are phone messages that Doug left Jay Farrar over the years. This is a brand new record from Son Volt.

Excited for any new release although it sounds a little like cart before the horse in that email. I’d rather be surprised and excited with a proper roll out rather than some vague tease with no specifics- y’all know I’m not fairweather fan.

Son Volt will release Day of the Doug, a tribute to Doug Sahm, in 2023. All the particulars are being sorted - number of songs, release date, etc. We will share as we have more info.
