say it ain't so!
oh i should explain
I said m original post wrong: I have no problem with him smoking pot, and I'm not even surprised, it just seems so crazy out of character for him, that photo, it is so silly compared to his normal persona, quiet, introverted, etc. But don't get me wrong, I wasn't criticizing at all. Jay is a god.

Weed Kills
Rock stars promoting anything milk, drugs, social status etc is a joke. Have you ever seen the Keith Richards photo of him out on the chair with the Coca-Cola shirt on. I believe that photo of Jay is a tongue in cheek spoof on that photo and that's why the smile. Everybody has smoked and drank or whatever in their life these days. It's a spoof and I like it. Consider He's in London.
well...
I changed my mind about this when I got to know an artist I was always amazed by, found out he never got high or drank, not once, not ever, really made me question my ideas. Now, I've been around the block, been to a county fair and two picture shows, just got to be careful, can't generalize about it. Plants are teachers if you are smart enough to listen, but even the best teachers aren't forever.
peace all...

From Bill Hicks' "Relentless"
"I think drugs have done some good things and if you disagree, go
home tonight and take all your tapes, CDs, records and burn em. Cause
those musicians who made all that great music that's enhanced your
lives all these years ....... REEEEEEEAAAAAAAALLLLL high on drugs.
The Beatles were so high they let Ringo sing a few songs. The
musicians today who don't do drugs, and in fact speak out against
drugs -- "We're Rock Against Drugs" ........ boy they suck ...
SUCK..... Ballless, soulless, spiritless corporate little bitches."

say it ain't so!
Isn't it the scariest feeling of all, after admiring Jay Farrar's works for years and not knowing much about him and building up mental images of him as being a super smart, deep guy to click on the "audio/video" link and see a picture of him wearing a "ENJOY WEED" shirt hahaha? I kid, I kid, I love the guy. Also he's smiling in the picture so maybe it's a fake, I don't remember any smiling pictures of him offhand.
