The bit about musicians on drugs from the Tool CD was the late, great comedian, Bill Hicks. In fact, I think they dedicated the album to him.

If you have not heard him, I suggest you check him out.

If you can't believe Jay "does the weed", take a close look at the band pic on the News page (edit: not there anymore), the one where they're all outside last Fall during the OATMOR sessions. The whole band was BAKED!!!!!

It's no spoof. I think weed and pain pills are, or were, the order of the day. Jay, weed, smiles, and baskets of what looks like fish and chips go hand in hand in hand.

I always thought "So Called Friend" off of no depression was about weed. Could be wrong, haven't listened to it in a while.

"drugs" is such a broad term. i don't like it.

coffee, cigarettes, ketchup and even cable TV are "drugs" in the world of some people i know...
