I thought he might have dusted off "Song to Woody" (Bob Dylan). Let me check something when I get home, that line sounds familiar. If not I'll find out Sat. night in StL. Peace.

I think it was "words of Woody Guthrie in my head" or something like that.

As always, I thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was fun meeting Stretch and his friends. Also ran into a guy who I didn't know was a Jay fan. That's always cool.

Did it have the line "Hey Woody Guthrie, I wrote you a song."?

I had heard that on my way out that the either never had one or that Jay snatched it up. Anyone know the title to I believe the 3rd song they played it was new and had reference to "Woody Guthrie" in the lyrics. Jay had guitar rif in it sounding like the good old Son Volt. Can wait to hear the new line up. Have to see if I can make it down for the MOUND CITY MUSIC FESTIVAL to hear the new sound

Not sure if anyone taped it - I didn't see anyone but that doesn't mean there wasn't someone taping.

I did see Jay snatch up a setlist right after the show.

Any word on whether Jay will make it to the Southeast anytime soon?

Hey now, I've struggled to open many a Cap'n Crunch box with my stubby, starved fingers growing up in that great depression of the 90s. I've felt suffering, seen it on the commercials in between those Ren and Stimpy episodes. I've paid my dues! Walked that old dusty low road![/i]

Uncharacteristically talkative tonight .... not Robyn Hitchcock-like but still...'White Freightliner Blues' played well and the one new number (entitled 'Medication', perhaps) was terrific. 'Straightface' acoustically was a nice piece.
