I voted for Sebastopol. They are all fantastic, obviously, but that one seems to be a culmination of everything that is wonderful about jay farrar's music.

For me March is UT's best album, Straightways is SV's finest moment and Sebastopol is probably my fave Jay stuff ever.

I bought Anodyne. I just couldn't get into it. I remember that song Chicamunga and liked it best. No Depression is another song I like.

I chose Wide String Tremolo, even though it has less rock than Trace does. I may be wrong. I am. Trace is my fave.

Straightaways or WST then TB.

It was a tough call between Trace and No Depression, so I flipped a coin and No Depression won.

I know this may not be the "consenus" on this board, but UT will always be #1 in my book. Okay, so I had to flip the coin four times....

I'm a huge fan of Sebastopol, so that's where my vote went. I actually like TSGS better, but it's only 5 songs so it's sorta...not fair.

Terroir Blues, I think, is brilliant, but isn't as enjoyable to listen to as a lot of his other stuff...but I definitely think it's the most artistically accomplished work he's ever done.

Any particular reason SS&BL isn't included? If it was in, I would've voted for that.

I know what you mean....how many times can we all replay moonshiner in the car really loud, over and over and over again..... pretty amazing.

Voted for March too... since it's my CURRENT favorite. My first taste of UT/Jay was Anodyne, then I went on to Trace... both are brilliant. But lately, I'm into March. It has probably my favorite Jay tunes (Criminals; Wipe the Clock) and his interpretation of Moonshiner is otherworldly. Also, it contains my favorite Tweedy tune (Fatal Wound).

voted for March....I started out hating it when it first came out...I didn't quite get it back then. But, I waited a year and haven't stopped listening to it since. What a tough question though----each is amazing for what they are-----hate to even compare!
