I think it is the Woody Guthrie song that was mentioned in the Rolling Stone article

I like the list, though I too am a big Left a Slide fan. At least there's some songs from Straightaways, which is sometimes kinda neglected.
I like the cover art a lot! Neat arrows, movement and colors.
I don't like "a retrospective." Reminds me too much of "Sebastopol: A Project by Jay Farrar." Would "Eponymous" have been the same if it were called "REM: A Retrospective"? Yes, it would have been the same, but still... I think "Route" would have been a better name.

i'm glad i'm not the only one peeved by the absence of "left a slide." "last minute shakedown" really ranks high with me, too.

but we all know this bitching is pretty academic of us, right? the comp'll be great, and we all know that we all need every damn piece of son volt ever (it would seem sticky actually has it all). maybe this anthology will turn on some newbies; that's the point, no?

yeah, the griping's pretty academic, indeed. but shucks, i'm an academic by trade. what about "right on through?"

I still don't get why they left out Left a Slide though, it's probably 2nd to Windfall my favourite track. Also seems to be the average SV fan's top 5 pick. Well well, I've got it already, so no crisis. Anyone think they'll remaster it? Like the UT rereleases?

A big howdy for "Creosote".
Definitely this boarder's gun-at-the-head "choose a Son Volt track punk!"
In fact, if you happen to be in Kilkenny for 29/30 April and hear a slightly
inebriated Scots accent requesting said tune, well, you've found the likely culprit.

Wow, I thought I was a Byrds fan but not knowing that songs shows that I'm not. And I really like the Ballad Of The Easy Rider album

Looks cool! Good to see Rex's Blues and I was hoping for Holocaust as well. And it'll be interesting to hear those demos. Is Tulsa County a Jay song or a cover?

Thanks for the news Jay! Somehow that part of the site doesn't get many visits from this paricular user.

No Left a Slide??? What the fuck are they thinking?? The other choices are good though. But still.. No Left a Slide? Long Slow Fade will not be pleased with this.

You just gotta love a site where the newest news item isn't posted at the top.
