Do it. You'll love it.calexico wrote:
Now it looks like we shall both have to take unpaid leave from work to swing this too. But fuck it, how many times do you win something like this?
I went on the inaugural sailing of the Liberty of the Seas because my dear husband has a pretty swanky gig at a prominent travel company. We get ridiculously amazing vacations on a regular basis (knock on wood) - going to Riviera Maya next week, in fact.
Now then ... Make this happen, it will be fun. Remember, if you are prone to sea sickness, two drinks will instantly cure it.
So now we have a situation.
We won a cruise on the Independence Of The Seas. Involves flying from Cork to London, being chaffeured to Southampton, board the ship and sail from there BACK to Cobh, stay a day or so and back onboard and sail back to Southampton, chaffeured back to London and then fly to Cork. 4 or 5 days in total.
Now we already booked the first week in September off to go to Spain to see The Jayhawks and now this takes place near the last week in August. Conundrum, as we have used up all our holiday days in booking the Spain trip.

I did a small portion of today's whitewater trip sans boat. It was a hoot.
