Son Volt Opening Act

THE STARKWEATHERS....but that'll never happen.

Mike Ireland & Holler would be a very good thing and I bet the Bottlerockets would agree.

Ya know,...I'd love to see Cary Hudson open for Jay. His solo stuff is pretty good and the classic Blue Mountain songs would still kick ass. Oh,...how I miss Blue Mountain. I think they may have opened some shows for SV years ago.

Macon Grayson is also a band worthy of opening for Son Volt

Drag The River is the obvious choice.

This post contains no irony or antagonism.

first of all, i'm sorry. so so so sorry for the horrendous pun in my subject. why not go back and change it, you ask? i can't bring myself to do it. it is so bad that i feel i should be punished by all of you in reply posts.

but, to the topic at hand, i would love to see peter bruntnell open for son volt. he is a supremely talented brit, and he opened for the original son volt on their last tour. his last two albums have been phenomenal. i think that normal for bridgwater is the best album to come out since trace.

sadly, pete doesn't get over to this side of the pond often. so i'd like to see him on the upcoming tour. but i do believe he has a new album in the works (quiver), so he might not be able to swing it.

With exception being the show in St. Louis with Gillian Welch. Give me Lucero or Old Crow Medicine Show or even Iron and Wine. I'd like some new blood for a change. Lucero would be perfect for the Son Volt shows.
HELL YES!!! Lucero is one of the best bands ever!!

Fuck yeah!

It would also be great to see Freakwater, Peter Bruntnell, Alejandro Escovedo, Carpetbaggers, Devil In a Woodpile (all of whome I've seen open for SV and were AMAZING!)
