Tom & Jerry way back in the 80's, I was 3 or 4 or something, so 85-86 or something like that. Tom (Nashville-Braathen) & Jerry (Engell) are two local country musicians from Rjukan (Home of the Fenry, and the only Norwegian Vietnam vet around these parts) They both stink, although Tom's recorded several albums in Nashville, and I know for sure that 4000 copies of at least one of those albums was found in the local sewer (read capitalist river) And as the concert took place in the Community Hall (once regarded as the 2nd greatest community hall in the nordic countries after the one in Helsingfors, Finland) where they also have a cinema (two cinemas actually) I was under the impression that I was seeing a Tom & Jerry cartoon. Not a great experience.

First REAL one was the Beastie Boys in Oslo Spectrum in april 98 or 99, not sure.

Best* (and LOUDEST ONE) The Drive-by Truckers, Oslo, late april this year.

*Although I'm sure Brian will release his inner Chuck to please us Euros to the best of his ability

First real show: The Who 1989 reunion tour at RFK stadium in D.C. Half a hot dog fell from the seats in the section above ours. We had really good seats even though we weren't on the floor. The Acid Queen was deafening. I was 13. But years before i vaguely recall being too short to see over the seat in front of me but I think it was a Linda Rondstadt show. I also like to consider my uncle's band's show in Richmond in like 81. But the who is the one that sticks. First of two jay shows was at Trax in Charlottesville, Va., on the Straightaways tour with Richard Buckner. Saw the Volt at the Floodzone in Richmond on the same tour but Alejandro Escovedo opened. Both clubs are now gone.

How could it have taken 8 pages for Styx to turn up? My first concert was on the Cornerstone tour, Baltimore Civic Center. Egh!

Next one, Moody Blues at the Spectrum. That one wasn't quite so bad, except that my friend's mom found the stash and kept him home at the last minute, so I had to let my dad come in with me, and see things I didn't want him to see....

I later saw April Wine headline w/ Eddie Money opening. April Wine rocked...

If you see Kay
Tell her I love her

If you see Kay
Tell her I care.....
