mischo mckay is probably one of my five favorite drummers ever. i met a guy here a week or so ago who's an obsessive drummer/drumfan, and it took me all of two days to turn him onto macha.
sadly, doesn't look like we'll be hearing anything more from them...not for a while.

Hey, another Misch McKay fan! That guy is brilliant. He's the one who really first got me interested in the role of the drummer; before I hadn't paid much attention, but after being exposed to Macha I started to realize how much a great drummer adds. (And how a crappy drummer takes away.) He really is one of the best drummers in the U.S.
You know, he used to work at The Grit in Athens...it was weird having this incredibly brilliant drummer waiting on us...I learned that he does not like it when people gush over him and his work...My former boyfriend and I used to leave him huge tips as a way of thanking him for being so gifted.
Do you know what those guys are up to now? I'm outta that loop.

Neko Case in the deck now switching to Iggy Pop then probably some Bowie "man who sold the world"; I love the song "black country rock". Closing with RANCID 'life wont wait" and if that don't work I'll fix my turn table and bust out The Leaving Trains 'fuck" and listen to "light rain" or some Black Sabbath. But inthe deck now Neko and previously NIRVANA, nevermind. In my VCR Son Volt live Austin City Limits!

i really like earthquake glue, but then again, i like just about everything gbv. this new records alot more cohesive than any gbv record to date. the songs are all worked out. no snippets. but it rocks. it's like isolation drills, only better, i'd say. sounds like the who.
i got the new record cuz my friend somehow stumbled upon a copy.
have you seen em before? they're amazing. robert pollard keeps on getting older, and his shows keep going longer. they'll make you a very happy fan.
