He's 89 now.
It's an American variation on Orel which is Slavic/Russian.
I don't think anyone's used it as a first name (other than my dad and Oral Roberts apparently) in a looooooooooong time.

I can't imagine why... ;)
Don't forget Oral Hershieser. Tommy Lasorda nicknamed him bulldog 'cause he didn't think Oral intimidated batters.
