What the fuck is a "cack" ?TrouserSnakeandGary wrote:Man I hate cold weather. Worst part is that your balls draw up into a little bunch, and you have to put an IcyHot patch on your cack to raise the temp enough to rub one out.

Damn! I played once outdoors when it was about 45-50 degrees and my hands could not feel a thing on the neck. Should have stuck to the one note solo (hopefully the right one). After the show, the guys were giving me shit, calling every lead the "broken record solo". I seriously could not play my guitar. I cannot imagine playing at 30.Neverwonagrammy wrote:Cold? Yeah, right. You lucky southerners. I was in Council Bluffs, Iowa, proudly playing my own Peavey equipment at a friggin' casino. It was SIX degrees outside.
The gig was not outside, but, there was plenty of "outside time" loading and unloading the equipment.
Snow too!
Seriously, I know the difficulty in playing outside in the cold. Last year, at SXSW, we played, outside, at 1:00 AM. It was record setting cold in Austin that night. When we hit the stage, it was THIRTY degrees!!!
THAT was tough.
Your hands just don't wanna move too fast at that temperature.

It was cold, no doubt, but Son Volt brought forth the rock and jammed. Enthusiastic crowd, too.
I'll leave the set-list posting to someone else, but they played most of 'Okemah,' the usual 'Trace' stuff like Drown, Windfall and Loose String, plus some off 'Tremolo.' I don't think they played anything from 'Straightaways.'
