Bet you they would move fast enough if 20 bucks fell out of someone's pocket!

Yeah, 30 is TOUGH!!! We had to change the set list, to do "paralyzed hand" friendly songs.
Opened with "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way", just 'cause it only had two easy, close together, chords.
Every string bend was like arm wrestling with boxing gloves on.

The gig was not outside, but, there was plenty of "outside time" loading and unloading the equipment.
Snow too!
Seriously, I know the difficulty in playing outside in the cold. Last year, at SXSW, we played, outside, at 1:00 AM. It was record setting cold in Austin that night. When we hit the stage, it was THIRTY degrees!!!
THAT was tough.

Damn! I played once outdoors when it was about 45-50 degrees and my hands could not feel a thing on the neck. Should have stuck to the one note solo (hopefully the right one). After the show, the guys were giving me shit, calling every lead the "broken record solo". I seriously could not play my guitar. I cannot imagine playing at 30.

It was cold, no doubt, but Son Volt brought forth the rock and jammed. Enthusiastic crowd, too.

I'll leave the set-list posting to someone else, but they played most of 'Okemah,' the usual 'Trace' stuff like Drown, Windfall and Loose String, plus some off 'Tremolo.' I don't think they played anything from 'Straightaways.'
