Hey I actually talked to him at Indy before the show. Just sort of stammered and stuttered but did manage to ask him to sign my copy of OATMOR, which he did.Lawrence Fan wrote:Well, I'd start off with "Tom, err...FrarrarFan1...wanted me to ask you..."farrarfan1 wrote:Dang, you'd really ask him that, face to face? I would ask Jay why he feels the way about his back catalog, and if he is
so soured on the UT hoopla us fans make of things, id that didn't contribute
to to hhis general malaise concerning the back catalog -OR- does he
REALLY think them inferior songs?
If there was 1 question you could ask Jay, what would it be?

nice fucking answer! i forgot about that sam.sam6025 wrote:I know the song is for his wife and about him coming to her window one night...or at least the beginning is. It's probably his cryptic way of saying she is a strong support in his life and she was behind the curtain when she was talking to him? I think it'd be pretty reasonable to make this assumption. The "curtain call" line is about her coming to the window...in an interview, she said that was his last chance to stop being shy and go for it...so he did.
you satisfied now ya irish bum?

nice four-year bump, cal
i'd ask him why he doesn't vary the set more
jay is one of my three favorite people making music today but i don't get why a guy with a catalogue as deep as his doesn't dip into it more
i'd get bored playing the same songs every night
and if i wrote some of the most brilliant songs ever - still be around, looking for a way out, whiskey bottle - i'd play 'em once in a while, yo

Why is Caryatid easy?
"caryatid" is defined by Webster's as "a draped female figure supporting an entablature"
For the dumb among us, including me:
An entablature is a major element of classical architecture, the superstructure of moldings and bands which lies horizontally above the columns, resting on their capitals.
Now, I know I am out of shape and that, but that kind of work is nowhere near easy. That's some bicep workin' shit.
