nicotine and waiting, just wanted to keep it alive

with the ballot box open, the flowing information, the temp warmering and all the cloning nonchalance

living it up on the downside, living out what's inside

when the bible is a bottle, and the hardwood floor is home
when morning comes twice a dya or not at all
If I break in two would you put me back together
when this puzzle's figured out will you still be around

too many to mention

"cold coffee and tears, flow in and out of the brain"
no more parades

"you've schemed more than you have, borrowed more than you know"
steal the crumbs

"we all want the best for our own factional worlds"
no rolling back

Too many to choose from, but here's a couple:

"When the hours go and move along,
worn out wood and familiar songs
To hear your voice is not enough,
it's more than a shame."

"Ain't it hard
When the spirit doesn't catch you
Gravity's the winner
And it weighs you down
It weighs you down"

WST - Blind Hope

Post by HAP »

This isn't my nomination for best lyric, but does anyone know the words to that stream-of-consciousness thing that Farrar does at the end of Blind Hope? I've probably heard it a hundred times, but can't make much of it out. Thanks.

"I would meet you anywhere western sun meets the air. We'll hit the road never looking behind."

"Passing under barren skies waiting for our worlds to collide...."

Just a couple lines that instantly popped into my head. Like everyone else, I'm sure I could list favorite lyrics for pages upon pages.

How about:

"Handcuffs hurt worse when you've done nothing wrong"

If I ever owned a factory, Grindstone would play on the PA before every shift.

yes, but the best line in barstow:

The devil bought the key to Branson
Drive a backhoe and wears a gold chain.

Checked out gumbopages.com. They have the Trace lyrics on there and it says "Another road remains...

Ah Barstow, filled with great lines. Such as:

"They'll be digging through the landfills to find evidence of our great demise."

"The Devil bought the key to Branson. He drives a backhoe and wears a gold chain."
also from Barstow:
"Woke up in another test market with a new headache filter in place"

"Switchin' it over to A.M. Searching for a truer sound. I can't recall the call letters. Steel guitar, I settle down. Catchin' an all-night station. Somewhere in Louisiana. It sounds like 1963 but for now. It sounds like heaven."

"Hailstone haloes and country blues wailings"

"When in doubt, move on"

"Caught between. Between two worlds. Don't wanna be. Don't wanne be fenced in"

Many others

I may be wrong on the 'mother road' line, but I know thats what Route 66 was/is called. It wouldnt be the first time I've misheard lyrics. Can anyone confirm or deny 'mother road' as correct?

Nothin' here to stand onnnnnnnn - Postcard

I love the way he varies it in the different choruses.

P.S. I always thought it was "Another road remains, not the mother..."; could be wrong, though.
