Yup, I remember. I'm saying that whenever, IF ever, the ice thaws outdcarter wrote:Uh, Glenn. Been there, didn't do that. The Gary Schepers benefit? Remember? An ex-roadie, Cisco Austin, tried hard to pull it off but someone went missing...Lawrence Fan wrote: Unfortunately it would take more

enough for the two to even consider playing together, it would be for
something like that. Obviously the ice is still very thick.

You're such a n00b. And stroking Doogy like that! I'm beginning to think you're just Curefreak with a new chassis. ;);)ScottZeagle wrote:I never heard a UT record until well after I had bought Trace.beatenbynonfiction wrote:After all, UT is why we are all here.
Hearing Drown on the radio is what drew me in...
The bright side is, Doug now has someone else to help carry the "Twats for Tweedy" banner...

DBT's versus UT!!!sturgeongeneral wrote:Beaten,
As far as I am concerned keep discussing the what-ifs and hypotheticals. It makes for good dialogue. I would think if John Lennon were still alive there would still be discussions, comparisons, and contrasts between Lennon and McCartney even after all these years. For me, that is what makes being part of this board a lively interactive experience.
As far as UT being the best live act you ever saw, I never had that opportunity except for some archived videos. You owe it to yourself to experience the Drive By Truckers live if you have not done so already. I think they could give UT a run for their money.
Now THERE'S a worthy discussion!!!
That deserves a thread of it's own...

Many thanks for the warnings. I had hoped to generate a little new discussion about the past. After all, UT is why we are all here. Still the greatest live band I ever saw. I certainly mean no disrespect by simply discussing the dynamics between two of the worlds greatest singer/songwriters. The backlash that occurs when someone attempts to discuss this is always enjoyable to watch. All the more reason for keeping it going. I am well aware of the masses who force the poo on those who dare tread on past discretions. Regardless, I love I love TMS.
Stroke of genius for the viachacago link. I would love to discuss UT over there, but I don't want to endure the hassle of having my mail inspected for the rest of my life. How about a shout-out for postcardfromhell. Last I checked, a mention of Son Volt over there would make a poo-pie sound like heaven.
