I am boycotting this album until it comes out. I got yelled at by Sharon for talking about Okemah a couple months before it was released.

hate to see Jay put effects on his voice and get away from the basics...straight-forward guitar rock and acoustic folk...but he's our genius, so what do I know...I'm confident the album in full will come together and shine on several tracks.

thanks for this link

and every youtube of Jay...

I really like it. Maybe my favorite of what I've heard so far too.

I like it. Like the lyrics and like how the song picks up at the end. Surprising that Reg says it's his favorite song off the new record. When I listened to the :30 clips on Amazon, this one jumped out at me the least. But I like the sequencing of the songs and how the songs go together, although so far I'm judging that mostly on the :30 clips. Can't wait for March 6.

Third listen, and it is starting to sink in...

This is going to be a "fine wine" CD, me thinks....

I'm going to hold off on a final judgement until I hear it in context with the songs on either side of it. Thanks for the link.

Listening now, but I am not 100% in love with the song....

Maybe it will grow on me.

Finally posted on his online 1 hour show. Click the link above, then click the top left Reg Rewound link. Then click the middle listen now button.
Once the show starts, you can get to the Son Volt by dragging the bar to the 41:20 mark with intro - 42:00 to skip the intro.
Enjoy.
This will likely be replaced early the week of Feb 19, so listen fast.
