Actually, Neil did write that on the liner notes of Decade, but it's false. Probably was the first vocal he did with the Springfield, though. There are a series of acoustic demos he made for Electra before he was with the Springfield, and there is also at least one song recorded of him singing in his band the Squires.

I was told by a Neil Young expert that this was the first song Neil Young ever sang lead on when he did it with BS.

Its actually a tune penned by N. Young but performed by the Buffalo Springfield-You'll find it on BS "Last Time Around" and NY-"Decade"

Burned was on the soundtrack to the Film I Shot Andy Warhol with Lilly Taylor. I don't know if it was made specifically for that or what.
