Anyone else wanna see the Meth or Beacon Soul if there is one?
I'm pretty sure it was part of a New York Times online article/review from right around the time the album was released. There was a thread specifically about the NYT online article/review/video. It also has video footage of a JF interview where in reference to the possibility of a UT reunion he said "That remains to be seen". Why this didn't cause spontaneous orgasm and internet clammoring amongst the UT>SV/JF folks here remains a mystery to me.
Finally, I believe that it was Antelope who started the aforementioned thread.

great video. thanks! He does have a point about the threadjacking.
I agree. All of that threadjacking is bogus. Thanks again for the video. The Picture would be a hit in a just world.

The irony of "The Picture" has always been for me (and I don't mean this negatively) that lyrically the song carries such a weight of seriousness while the blaring horns render it a really cheerful tune musically. This version beautifully captures the sincerity of the song.
This all reminds me of a quote by Townes Van Zandt. Something to the effect that "There are only two types of music in the world: the blues and zippity-doo-dah." Farrar has managed to capture both in one song on the album version of "The Picture." Again, I really don't mean that as criticism.
