I am debating which one to get. I think it is between the Nook and the Sony Touch. I know the Kindle is the most popular but, as far as I can tell, it does not permit the borrowing of electronic titles from a library.

What one do you have, half? And what has your experience been? Do you like it?
hey tf, i dont have one and I am debating too. I'm not much of a "best seller" reader and i wonder how accessible older titles or obscure-ish books are. although having a dictonary, torah, almanac, textbooks, journals or maps so compact is kinda cool. and shit for traveling?...neato! after clothes, books take up the most space for me.

Let me know how your SEARCH goes!

not to mention carrying this around:

So far, really good. For an egghead he is very readable. Very interesting takes on the plight of our modern cities.

I got two huge tomes for Christmas. Blood's A Rover by James Ellroy and Under The Dome by Stephen King. Seems there is a small forest of pages between the two. Trying to finish up The Way Home by George Pelecanos.

Silverlock (including the Silverlock companion) by John Myers Myers.

I gather this is supposed to be a fantasy classic. I am ashamed to say I have only recently heard of it. I'll reserve judgment as to the "classic" until I have read it.

Music-Lovers / Readers:

A very thoughtful friend gifted me the book “Canyon of Dreams”, which is a splendid, photo-filled book on the music of California’s magical Laurel Canyon.

I’m such a nerdy huge fan of the old Southern California music-scene that this book has been dreamy to flip through. I just got it, so I have not read much yet. I have daily playlists that include almost all of the artists featured in this book - The Turtles, Canned Heat, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Joni Mitchell, Brian Wilson, Jackson Browne; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Carole King … so yeah. This is lovely!
