Brother Claude
Ain't No Grave: the Life and Legacy of Brother Claude Ely
Baby Doll surprised me with the book after she heard the story on NPR.
It's really good and about Appalachia, Pentecostals, and how devoted Brother Claude Ely was to his work, not to mention how record labels and unscrupulous traveling thieves stole Southerner's music back in the day.
This book is well done, hand-sewn, and has wonderful black-and-white photographs.
Love,
Pony

Thanks for the heads up. This sounds like a good read and will be next on my list. I'm not a Tampa Bay fan but I do like a well written book on baseball...and it sounds like there is the possibility of ending up a Rays fan.gdavis5446 wrote:
In the meantime I keep plodding through Holy Shit, a book about manure!
