No order specifically except #1

1. Left a slide
2. Picking Up the Signal
3. Medicine hat
4. No More Parades
5. Tear stained eye

That being said, I like alot of the SV2 stuff. Oatmor/Search i did like alot. The riff from the search is memorable.. goes thru my head. Circ Rhythm, L train, Meth etc finds Jay at the top of his game. The only complaint i have with the search was a little too much reaching with his voice.

Tougher than I thought. I was listening to that song for the album to benifit Alejandro (way mispelled I know). To me, it seemed like a sound that we now attribute to SV2. I came to the conclusion that OATMOR or the Search wouldn't have been that different even if the brothers and Heidorn had been the musicians; that's just where Jay was heading as a songwriter anyway. But then again, I'm from Kentucky. Just a thought.
I hadn't heard that song since the album came out, so I gave it another listen. Excellent point!!! Agreed.

Stuck in a hotel in Amsterdam
Its about sun down for you
Your sleep doesn't happen easy
Choice words for the pay phone that doesn't work
You can buy absynthe, cocaine and heroin
But you can't come home
Find sleep where you can
Situations to laugh about when its over
Its a long way from over

Thinking of you around the world

I bet he's talking about calling his kid before they go to sleep..."Stuck in a hotel in Amsterdam
Its about sun down for you
Your sleep doesn't happen easy "

maybe I'm a cheeseball, but I put two kids to sleep at sundown every night and I know he's got two around 4 and 7...recall where he said the girl likes Gob Iron and the boy Stone Steel Bright Lights...

no biggie, carry on

Well, from the first week of round the clock listening this would be top 5. If you reply, please don't mention Farrars solo work, since I haven't got the music yet:

1. Drivin' the view
2. Drown
3. Back into your world
4. Circadian Rhythm
5. Cemetery Savior

Tell me what i should listen closer to.

Best
welcome to the board! here are some alternative suggestions

1. "chaos streams" from okemah
2. "picking up the signal" from straightaways
3. "ten second news" from trace, or any other song on that album
4. "underground dream" from the search
5. "question" from wide swing tremolo

You should just keep listening to the albums that you have. You'll experience them the way that you, an obvious music lover, should: your own personal way. Enjoy and move to Uncle tupelo and solo work when you feel like it. Cheers!!

Tough to limit it to 5. How about the best 25, or 35. The first 5 on Trace alone are probably the best songs ever written. How about these.

1. Medicine Hat
2. Driving the View
3. Joe Citizen Blues
4. Hanging Blue Side
5. Back Into Your World
