Nice find.

A little further down there's another posting - I think it was 2:43 p.m. - that quotes Dave Bryson.

That's pretty funny Art Guy. I suspect that sometimes blurbs like this get written after catching a song or two, then making some assumptions about what the rest of the set will contain.

Here's DeRogatis's take on the "patchouli-scented wankery": http://www.suntimes.com/entertainment/d ... og.article

I didn't go, but ran into a bunch of the patchouli people last night at Sonotheque and Five Star, two places that are normally very un-patchouli. These people crack me up.

Only one question, Greg: were those ballads really fueled by pedal-steel? Or was that just in your mind? If they were, then I got ripped off......

1:30 p.m.: Son Volt effectively splits its set between pedal steel-fueled tearjerkers and bare-knuckle brawlers, with Jay Farrar pulling back slightly to deliver some of his subtlest and most affecting vocals.
