Yes, SJ, I have finally joined the ranks. Went down to Silver Platters today with the express purpose of finally picking this up. Nothing, not even a name plate. So looked for Slobberbone. A name plate but nothing in stock. Ended up taking the new Olson-Louris one up to the counter, telling the clerk I couldn't find what I wanted. He searched and said "We have it. It's in the country section." I've listened to the first four tracks in the car...and it sure as hell doesn't belong in the mainstream country section!

Always brings back memories of that Nebraska commune life. Ah, the days of wanton youth and the North Platte river.

Probably my favourite Beefheart album. Great playing, fantastic songs and the Captain in fine voice.

Took a look over at the Bottle Rockets board and got inspired. Zoysia hits the spot, eh!

hey blimps ... i've been disappointed with the second spaceships record

i dig canned food demons

but prefer hugely the original versions of headache revolution & catherine from mid-october

and nothing else on there is blowing me away

prefer the first one and i didn't like that very much

i mean, they sound good ... and the spaceships live show was tremendous

and it's nice to hear a record that's not all bob vox and todd tobias playing all the music ... but the songs just aren't there

i think crawling distance and off to business are both better than the last two spaceships records, with 4-5 decent tracks each -- which for bob is a hell of a lot lately

the last record i could listen to start to finish was From a Compound Eye ... since then they've all been spotty
