dev, your experience has provided me with some inspiration and jumpstarted my feeble attempts to put some words down on paper.
my mama taught me when i was younger
don't hold on too tightly
don't be disappointed
nothing was meant to stay
but now that i'm older
and i've learned to shoulder
life's tough lessons
with a few failing grades
chorus:
i need to know you're in my corner
you're there when the shadows creep across the floor
i need to know you're there in the bad times
when i have less but you can give more
the best to you and your son
