Claiming "The Last Waltz" as a favorite soundtrack is kind of cheating, if we are playing that game I can say the soundtrack to Six String Belief would be in my favorites.

But the top three of the past year have to be:
1. I'm Not There
2. Once
3. Juno

Do Quadrophenia and Tommy count even if you are in Love with both albums, but not so much the soundtracks??
..
No. You've gone over your quota! Plus thread title is "Soundtracks".

Additional nominees:

Feeling Minnesota (with Joe Henry's 'Safe With Me', Son Volt 'Looking at the World Through a Windshield', Wilco 'Blasting Fonda' and nancy Sinatra 'How Does That Grab You Darlin'').

Still Crazy (Is there anything comparable to the Strange Fruit? Well yes. The '70's in a nutshell. Scream Freedom!)

Awesome that others have noted Visionquest. It's the first thing I thought

My favorite of all time is the soundtrack to the Good, Bad, and the Ugly.

My mom has it on album and it has just kind of become mine over time.

It has all kinds of scratches and hisses, but the music is incredible and has made me like the movie even more than I used to.
