I've given that up. Too much effort with very little payoff and a high propensity for injury. I was determined there for a while though.

I am suprised..........It's not a million miles away from what Midlake were doing. It may not be up tempo but I can't see what is lightweight about it. On the contrary, the vocals are some of if not the most rich and luscious vocals i have ever heard......and what's more amazing is they sing better live.
That's as may be but they are no Take That.

My top CD of 2008 is...

Ben Nichols - Last Pale Light in the West.

www.luceromusic.com

I know that the site says that it won't be out until early 2009, but it has shipped already, cause I have it.

I doubt it'll be better than this:

Oh please. Even the guy who worked on that album said Ready For the Flood blows it away.
Any proof of this?
Your talking about Chris Robinson, right?

considering how often you listen to Ryan Bingham, I think this should be voted a 2008 top of the heap. (I have never heard of this guy but your dedicated listeningship has made it my very next purchase. It BETTER be good!)
stick around for the bonus track.

Have you seen Bon Iver live?

Incredible.

They were so good that people actually shut the hell up and paid attention at the show I was at (Canopy Club in Champaign, IL).
I have not been fortunate enough. And actually, I have not been familiar with him long enough to have had the chance. But, I will be the first to buy a ticket for his next St. Louis show...
