I must be the only person on the face of the earth that likes AM anymore. Funny, at one point it was all people talked about. There is something about that album that is loose, fun and free. Plus it just plain rocks. Casino Queen, Passenger Side, I Must Be High, Box Full Of Letters...I could keep going.

I agree with that. AM has a couple of good tunes, but as a whole album its so so. Its prob my least favorite Wilco album.Lawrence Fan wrote:10-4. I agree that this is a nice exercise for a thread topic. Not a bad list at all, though I do have issues with both entries to Son Volt starting off by first referencing Tweedy. I do note that the Tweedy stuff doesn't mention Jay Farrar at all...and then it may be noted that the blurb about Mermaid Avenue doesn't reference Jay Bennet at all (California Stars...forgot about that one, perhaps?) And again as to Mr. Bennett, YHF is his "profound artistic statement" as well (though I would say that Tweedy's is Being There).
And as others have mentioned, or implied, it looks like Jay's solo work may have been overlooked entirely.
I've never heard The Gourds or the Loose Fur...so no comment. I do have The Coming Grass (Ken Coomer) and am glad to see that THAT album didn't make the list!
But a nice thread.
