i was just trying to fit in.
darrell, you kick ass.

I don't see a fucking "Hell Freezes Over" tour for Son Volt. As has been pointed out, they were on hiatus, not broken up, so things should be good. I can't wait, and I better see some damn mid-Atlantic dates up SOON. Thanks in advance, Jay. :D

As much as I love all things Jay, it's time for him to retire the Son Volt name and continue his solo work. I don't begrudge any of you for getting excited over the reunion, but you should consider seeking out some new & exciting bands rather than clinging to nostalgia for 1995. I'm just as curious as you to hear what the new Son Volt record will sound like, but I'm expecting a tired, rehashed effort.
someone ban this a$$hole. what a prick.

It's only a reunion album if you broke up. Son Volt never broke up, just took a break from touring and recording. Never did Jay or anybody else say that the band broke up. This next album will Rock! I have no doubt.

nothing greater

I hope Jay and the band come to the table with guns a blazin'. I mean fresh and out for blood. New songs. All. No Covers. Covers I'm not thrilled about at all. There would be nothing greater than new Jay/SV songs on the fast track to classic-dom. Can't wait to hear Mike again!!!

Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus. This is the best bit of news I've heard in a long time. Jay's solo stuff is great and his shows the past five years have been consistently excellent. But I don't think it takes anything away from that to say that the thought of hearing new Son Volt and seeing them live again is the most exciting thing (music related that is) I can think of.

Brian-

How about you and your boys from BottleRoxs jam with Son Volt and do a nasty tour of the South, tear it up and then head out to the Mid-West....

We love ya'll down South!!!
